Classroom Programs

Our distance learning programs bring our staff and programs into your classroom via technology. Through a partnership with the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration, Historic Landmarks Foundation can broadcast from a studio in Indianapolis to classrooms around the state, reaching your facility through either IP (Internet) or ISDN (phone lines). Programs address topics of interest to adults and children and meet Indiana academic standards. If your facility is equipped for distance learning, visit the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration to request one of the following programs.

Have you ever heard the saying, "If these walls could talk?" If you know how to look at a building it will tell you all kinds of fascinating stories from long ago. Join Suzanne Stanis, Director of Heritage Education, Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana, as she leads students on a virtual tour of historic places. Learn to see the details in buildings that provide clues to the past such as who lived or worked there and what their lives were like. Once students learn the building watcher's motto, "Look up, look down, look all around," they will learn to appreciate the stories in their communities.
